As the Director of the Center for Digital Antiquity, I am currently interested in applying the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) to archaeological datasets to expand our knowledge of the human condition and preserve our cultural heritage.

My graduate research at the University of Wyoming focuses on using different computational and GIS models of paleoclimates and to examine past human behaviors, specifically with an evolutionary ecology perspective.  I am interested in how climatological variables influence hunter-gatherer settlement systems, mobility, and foraging patterns and the mechanisms governing these behaviors.

In addition to my work with paleoclimates and settlement systems, I have done zooarchaeological research at bison sites on the Great Plains, ethnoarchaeological work in South America, Upper Paleolithic studies in Germany.  I am also actively involved in a Middle Paleolithic project in the southern Caucuses of Armenia, and a study of territoriality and resource procurement the Four Corners area of the American Southwest.
