My name is Chris and I am an anthropologist/archaeologist interested in studying human paeloecology, paleoclimates, paleodemography, and even dabble in modern western water resource and climate issues.  I am a huge advocate of digital archiving, preservation, and reuse; this is the focus of my current work.

My day job is serving as the Director of the Center for Digital Antiquity and tDAR at Arizona State University in the School of Human Evolution and Social Change (SHESC). As the Director of the Center for Digital Antiquity, I am currently interested in applying the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable) to archaeological datasets to expand our knowledge of the human condition and preserve our cultural heritage.

Data are the oxygen of archaeology!  We can do what we do without it.
